Perfume and Cocktail

Perfume

The first perfume in world perfume history was Hungarian water. Queen Elizabeth of Hungary had a formula applied to mask her bad odor: rose water, thyme essence, and alcohol. This is the first perfume in history.

Perfume was developed by the Sumerians 4000 years ago.

The Sumerians were the first civilization in the world to develop distillation and extraction techniques.

Before perfume, fragrant incense was used. After the discovery of fire, people who burned trees and shrubs likely realized that some plants emitted pleasant scents. However, it took many years for them to identify these trees and plants and make incense from them.

Perfume production was made possible by the Sumerian invention of distillation and extraction techniques. The Sumerians were using distillation devices as early as 3,500 BC. This device resembled a double-lipped ceramic pot. After wine was poured in and the lid was closed, the device was heated from below, and the distilled alcohol was collected between its two upper lips. Dried flowers could be added to the wine and distilled together to create a plant essence mixed with alcohol, further demonstrating that the history of perfumery did not begin with Hungarian water.

The extraction device, like the distillation device, resembled a double-lipped pot, with 5-6 holes opened into the pot between the two lips.

Tapputi or Tapputi-Butt,

Let me tell you about a Babylonian “WOMAN” chemist named Tapputi who lived in the 2nd millennium BC. Taputti-Butt, who is also considered the first chemist and the first distiller, lived in the Babylonian palace. She set up a laboratory for herself, collected flowers from the Babylonian gardens and obtained magnificent scents and made perfume.

What he paid most attention to was combining four different floral scents to create wonderful scents.

-I read Taputti's story and made four different perfume scents for myself,

-I created a Cocktail;

4 different Scents -

Water (Istanbul Bosphorus Smell)

Another perfume workshop and distillation equipment, said to have been built by Semiramis and dating back approximately 4,000 years, were discovered in the town of Pyrgos, in northern Cyprus, in 2005. The ruins of this factory, located in Cyprus, are considered the world's first perfume factory.

Al-Jabir, the chemist of the Abbasid Caliph Harun al-Rashid, possessed the most advanced chemical laboratory of his time. His books helped Europeans understand the principles of chemistry.

Another important chemist of the Abbasid period was al-Kindi. His book, "Kimya al-Itr Watt-Tas Isdat 3," is entirely about perfume making and distillation. It's fair to say that Europeans learned chemical techniques and perfume making from al-Jabir and al-Kindi's books.
